Dear Parents and Carers
After months of hard work, all members of Journalism Club are delighted that the first edition of the Scarcroft Scribbler is now ready and available to read. The Scribbler contains articles on a wide variety of subjects, from girls’ football and cycling to restaurant reviews and Taylor Swift.
“Since the start of 2024, twelve Year 6 pupils have been creating the first issue of our new school newspaper. This has given us an excellent opportunity to practise our writing skills, and has helped us to prepare for secondary school. We’ve been given advice from journalism professionals, including Alex Lloyd (a journalist and Scarcroft Governor) and David Emery, Creative Director from Impact Communications Ltd. Impact also helped by designing the newspaper and the young journalists found their advice very useful.” – Darcey
We are all very excited for people to read the first issue of the Scribbler. The writing is interesting, informative and of a really high standard, and we are so proud of our editing team. Watch this space for the next edition which will be published at the end of term.
